ATHENA
Okay so first up, Athena. She really didn't ping Wriggle at first, who didn't even realise they lived in the same wing because she always came in and out via the window. She didn't form an early attachment to Athena and she didn't dislike her like some of the others so overall she was sort of forgettable. All Wriggle really thought about her was that she was a lawyer which meant she was pretty smart about the whole trial thing and was generally pretty bubbly. She did become a bit wary of her because she thought that if she was good at solving mysteries she might be good at making them but she was more concerned with keeping an eye on other people.
It wasn't until week six when Athena had her voting panic that she started to strike a chord. Wriggle has been so survival focused pretty much her whole life she couldn't comprehend the idea of someone sacrificing themselves just so they wouldn't condemn someone to death, especially if said person was still likely to die anyway. At first Wriggle tried to talk her out of it out of anger, because she considered humans to be at less risk of being murdered than bugs so to her it felt kind of like Athena was being selfish but the more she talked to her the more she realised that it was out of desperation. It was around the time that Wriggle started to realise that no one was safe here and no one really had an advantage because of their intelligence because being in murder castle could take a toll on anyone's emotional state.
It was a relief to see Athena take the resolve to keep going. Wriggle didn't really want to see anyone else die, and Athena asking for her help made her really happy since she'd felt pretty useless most weeks. It was from then on that Wriggle thought more about working with others and started remembering peoples names. Her primary goal for survival never changed but she did gain a secondary goal of finding a way to break the game because of the others so Athena became important to her for inspiring a new hope. Wriggle wanted to get to know her a bit better and work hard but she wasn't sure where to start and as Austria was considered dispensable the next week her thoughts were elsewhere. Even if they didn't figure out a lot together Wriggle was thankful for Athena, for being someone she could lean against when she needed it. After Austria's death she was absolutely distraught but Athena took her her aside and helped her calm down and keep her focused.
Wriggle couldn't say that Athena's death wasn't upsetting, but after loosing her favourite person in the castle two weeks in a row she was just too exhausted to be torn up about it. Their previous interactions had taught her that it was important to keep going, so Wriggle felt it would be an insult to her to not at least try. She wasn't sure if the letter that was left had really been written by Athena or not, but she couldn't believe it because she really did consider her a good person no matter what she had written about herself.
Now that it looks like they're going to be stuck in camp for a little while Wriggle really wants to hang out with Athena more as friends.
