NANAMI REALLY DID NOT REALIZE HE DISLIKED HER and also it's sort of hilarious how the demon bro team thought she was faking her entire...self. Since she really did just suck at being a villain, that was the actual secret truth of her entire tenure as mastermind she was just horrible at it and fully expected to die from the minute Marlowe told her she was the villain and sort of hoped it would be sooner rather than later so more people lived??? She tried so hard week 6 to get people to agree to murder her and no one agreed. Actually, the DKs just...always ignored her comments about dying from like the second week those jackasses...

Anyway, Kaoru! She actually, like Kuzuryuu, was very ??? about him from week 1. This is partly because she spent like that whole trial convinced he had something to do with Kouha's death (and she wasn't wrong) along with her yakuza counterpart, actually, but also had to do with how he was very calm and good about pushing off suspicion. And then afterwards Kuzuryuu was like "yeah something is hinky" and mentioned Kaoru like being weirdly friendly to him and they basically decided Something Was Up but never pursued it other than..."Try to annoy Kaoru: the Plan" and trying to convince Chizuru to at least maintain some sort of caution (since they had no idea what was up with him and weren't sure if he was or wasn't a threat). Obviously the DKs failed at ever getting Chizuru to maintain a level of caution 3am murder night walks.

So she did always kind of consider him a threat! And never knew what his deal was, although she pretty early on figured that he and Chizuru were related because OB...VIOUSLY...and also felt like since Chizuru was so nice he had to be the long lost evil twin but that was completely ridiculous gamer things and even she didn't take herself totally seriously and she never brought it up. Obviously she put him down as "most dangerous".

That said, she never actually disliked him! Nanami does not really actively dislike people often, tbh, FREUD IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO REALLY EARNED HER ACTUAL ENMITY IN GAME because he made Comments about video games. They were never really close, and a lot of it came from what she pointed out once: he seemed to put up a front a bunch and so there was never a chance to get to know one another, really. Which became obvious why later on!!

So she was like...idk, neutral-positive at him for a long time. While she worried he would backstab Chizuru or something because of his mysterious mysteries, Chizuru liking him so much did a lot in his favor, and Nanami really didn't intend to throw him under a bus ever if they could help it - like, since Chizuru wanted him alive she was perfectly willing to honor that! Although really the DKs were not great at scapegoating people after Ian, they never even really tried too hard about it all...two other times they went whoops. She did like their talks, though.

It became more actually actively positive after the reveal of him because 1) she was going to like anyone the host trusted to start with and 2) he actually stopped pretending to be whatever and she wasn't obligated to attempt to play along with the mastermind stuff at that point! And her opinion only got better after she got her full memories back, since in addition to Host-kun backing him he has Tanaka and Sonia, both of whom have Nanami's implicit trust, so. She likes him and would be friends with him? Also she is interested to get to know him more for Chizuru too, now that he really obviously is not a danger (to Chizuru) which was one of her main concerns and one she clearly never had to have.

I'M SERIOUSLY LAUGHING SO HARD that like half of the dks thought he was a danger to chizuru and then he thought they were a danger to chizuru... i mean tbf if it were three years earlier it would be a legit concern whereas kaoru was worried about nothing... BUT YES gosh this is all neat and nanami is a qt goodness i'm glad they'll have the opportunity to become friends

HE REALLY WAS WORRIED ABOUT NOTHING stiles did not lie when he said all the dks were getting along and all about teamwork...the only time they hurt one another was in the name of...teamwork...

but yes basically everyone can agree on both sides they adore chizuru, surely they can only go up from here!!
