Alrighty sebasstian! (emphasis on the ass) So it actually took a while for Sebastian to actually like...get on Kuzuryuu's radar, so to speak. He was pretty indifferent to him until Feferi's trial, at which point he started to think of him a bit more highly because he was actually intelligent. And you have to remember this was back in the beginning when Kuzuryuu thought pretty much everybody was a dumbass and blah blah blah I will not hesitate to kill any of you I hate everything. But truthfully, he did like all of his wingmates: Nanami and Chizuru for obvious reasons, Kougyoku because they had some things in common, and Seabass because he wasn't a complete moron and he was actually useful (but not TOO useful because he was from ye olde London) in trials and stuff. He didn't really like...understand why Sebastian was so hush hush about his criminal ties though? Because unlike European organized crime, the Yakuza are actually kind of in your face about it. They don't really try and hide themselves or anything so he just kind of had an "ugh, foreigners" moment over that whole thing.

And things more or less stayed the same over the next few weeks. Despite being okay with Sebastian, he wasn't really going to go out of his way to befriend him or anything. IT FEELS LIKE A JOKE TO SAY THAT IT'S BECAUSE SEBASTIAN ISN'T A TEENAGE GIRL BUT...THAT'S MORE OR LESS WHAT IT BOILS DOWN TO. While Kuzuryuu wants to be treated as an adult, he doesn't necessarily want to befriend adults. It's just kind of a different dynamic for him that I'm having trouble actually putting into words. BUT ULTIMATELY IT'S KIND OF IRRELEVANT SO MOVING ON...

THEN THE REPORT HAPPENED. And I guess the first thing you have to understand about that is that Kuzuryuu was under the impression that nobody was even remotely suspicious of them LMAO. (I was convinced ooc'ly that SOMEBODY had to be because they were really fucking obvious but Kuzuryuu was another matter entirely) He thought that SURELY if someone had caught on, they would have brought it up by now. And he didn't think that anybody had any reason to believe that a DK group existed in the first place. He was a little worried when the smoking room blew up but...even then, NOBODY FUCKING SAID ANYTHING? So he figured they were still in the clear and people had managed to accept some other explanation. So Sebastian's report actually did surprise him! Had it happened much earlier in the game, Kuzuryuu probably would have reacted more like what I think Sebastian was expecting? a.k.a.: loudly and with vehement denial. But Character Development was a thing and he very clearly had a different reaction.

By the time Sebastian exposed them, Kuzuryuu had already more or less come to terms with the fact that being a DK meant that he wasn't going to survive the game. Which was something I think nobody really picked up on, but over time he did stop saying things like "I'm gonna win this game" or "I'm not gonna die here!" Because after a while, it became obvious that he wasn't. Because he knew that even if he managed to off somebody (which he didn't want to do but knew eventually he'd have to), he wouldn't be able to scapegoat a second person. That being said he WAS mad that Sebastian outed them? Especially since he made it clear that he wanted to kill all of them and obviously didn't really care what sort of situation the DKs were in. (this was why he was kind of snippy with Sebastian during that origami thread, if that wasn't obvious HAHA) But he couldn't really...do anything. Because he wasn't allowed to admit to it, otherwise he'd break the DK rules and get his failure incentive. But he knew that if he tried to angrily deny it, that'd basically be the same as confirming it. And since that was when he was kind of on this slow roll down despair hill ANYWAY he just really didn't have it in him to react like that. So really all he could do was kind of try and avoid the issue and hope that everybody he actually cared about didn't start hating him because of this. And just be ineffectually mad at Sebastian forever because he wasn't going to confront Sebastian about it directly and give him the satisfaction of knowing he was right.

I guess mildly related to the report: the demon thing came as no surprise to him, lmao. Like...he wasn't sure WHAT Sebastian was but the fact that he DIDN'T NEED TO SLEEP AND ONLY EVER ATE AT DINNER made it really obvious that he wasn't human. Kuzuryuu didn't particularly care what he was though because like, okay there are aliens and robots and countries and shit, whatever you are barfstain, you'll fit right in. This was why he was never as suspicious of Sebastian as he was of Kaoru. Especially after the crime family thing came out he was just kinda like "okay well that's why you know so much weird murder shit, occupational hazard." And beyond that, he thought Sebastian was actually really obvious and not at all subtle, whereas Kaoru WAS ACTING LIKE A DOORMAT AND TRYING TO GET IN EVERYONE'S GOOD GRACES SO CLEARLY HE WAS HIDING SOMETHING. So that's why Kazoo and all the DKs focused on Kaoru and not he, demon Sebastian.

Then there was week 8. Oh week 8 you were a thing and was the point where Kuzuryuu had the most feelings about Sebastian...nearly all of them conflicing with one another. He was basically 100% positive that Sebastian had SOMETHING to do with Apollo's bluff. While most of his ire was directed at Apollo for that, there was definitely some set aside for Sebastian as well. Part of him kind of wished that Sebastian could have been a viable suspect for that case JUST TO KIND OF JAB BACK AT HIM IN A WAY but not to actually attempt to scapegoat him or anything just to maybe knock him down a few pegs. At the same time he was mad though, he actually started to feel grateful for what Sebastian did. Because outing them had actually been the turning point that started putting them on the course to wrecking shit. As for the trial itself, Kuzuryuu basically thought Sebastian was a moron throughout all of it. LIKE I SAID, CONFLICTING HIS OWN OPINIONS HERE since he'd spent basically every week leading up to this thinking Sebastian was fairly intelligent. And he still thought? But at the same time just...you motherfucking moron. Because at first he didn't seem all that suspicious of Kuzuryuu (I'm not sure if that was just him hiding it or if he legit didn't think he was behind it, it was hard for me to tell), then he pulled that shit on Nanami, and THEN he had Kuzuryuu's motivations COMPLETELY ASS BACKWARDS. He was actually really offended that Sebastian even dared to suggest that he was acting on the producer's guidance. Which is why he snapped like he did...wow I feel like I'm repeating myself here. Did I say this at some point on plurk? I probably did. Anyway, he died in this weird state of grateful yet pissed at Sebastian which ended up just kind of like...negating itself out into neutrality.

He was actually glad that Sebastian didn't die come week 10. Because he was a very valuable asset as far as surviving literal murder castle went and Kuzuryuu perceived him as another one of the ones who were most strongly #WRECK SHIT #DOWN WITH THE PRODUCERS #DESTROY THE CASTLE 2K14, along with himself and Kaoru. Like...not that everyone didn't want to wreck shit, he just felt that the three of them had a slight edge given their personalities and the fact that he and Kaoru had actually already DONE SHIT towards that end. And then team decapitation did their thing and he helped save Nanami and that was all Really Awesome.

I'm not...honestly sure how things would go from here on out as far as being stuck on the base for who knows how long goes. I FEEL LIKE KAZOO AND CIEL MIGHT...MAN IDK EITHER GET ALONG SWIMMINGLY OR HATE EACH OTHER'S GUTS but I'm really not sure as far as Seabass himself goes. They're all comrades now in his mind, but Sebastian is far from one he has a strong bond with (which I'm sure Sebastian doesn't mind at all). They're never going to be best bosom buds or anything but Kuzuryuu doesn't hate him and he does sort of have some respect for him and some gratitude mixed in there. Maybe the yakuza siblings and the Kuroshit duo can team up and launder money or something. They can be team organized crime and do a bunch of seedy shit that nobody else has to know the details of.
